Urban Chat Room

25th April 2010, Milan.

What makes a place a public space? Maybe the dialogue and the interaction between who lives it? Two chairs and 36 candles are enough to transform 4sqm into an Urban Chat Room–a little array of urban public space. The designated place is the Darsena, old Milan’s commercial port, that despite it is in the middle of one of the nightlife areas, it represents a source of decay for the city. The installation has the aim of pushing people to ask themselves about the current status of the area and about the way they live in the open space in the Milan of the virtual era.
